Evading my feelings by rejecting them is different from denial.
Rejection requires my acknowledgment; denial is only disbelief.
Rejection is a move for the underwhelmed to play fast forward;
denial is for those who are about to learn what the fuck is going on.
Not everyone needs to lie down in bed and have a good cry to keep themselves sane.
Sometimes shedding a regular tear for beauty can make one just as sensitive
as someone who cries often, and in pain, if not otherwise for no reason.
And it’s not because he’s never known pain. And he finds the catharsis of crying never close to worth it.
But it’s just because that’s how he chooses to operate with sadness by diminishing it intentionally.
He minimizes the magnitude of sadness so that he can sweat in his clothes and smoke cigarettes in wet bed sheets: He minimizes the burden of love by honestly having less of it——-Even if it’s enough of it——none of it.
He underrates pain because he doesn’t know how to express it natively.
He doesn’t express himself through any of the music he listens to.
He knows no such thing of any songs for you to understand him through.
He cries for beauty.
Never for pain.
