Religion is the only truth of law. It doesn’t even need to be real to you, just in order to rule over you regardless. Imagine being ruled over by a majority shared belief to which a range of 1-to-6 people out of ten do not believe in according to all censuses. This is almost everyone’s world. Almost everyone’s world. Virtually 100% of jungle people believe in the spirit world for an example of the exceptional sub-1-percent of societies that do not facilitate atheism. 100% of these people are believers. If you have a witch doctor or a shaman in your society, and he’s very revered by basically everyone, then the spirit world has become mandatory knowledge that all must have in your society, since ever being that way. Always to be that way of course. But when society reaches a point of un-specialization through diversification- ie, trending towards a state- a large scale class-rank society in which civilian magic can arise, atheism gets introduced as this civilian magic fulfills its imprint into reality, like shamanism does, but through many not through one, collectively and blind- though it requires a sensory connection to the clandestine, through which individuals can reach incredible heights.
