I Forget Your Name

Sorry I forget your name, especially since

you know my name.

It’s awkward when we salutate

I’ve asked your name, too many times, that

courtesy, I guess expires.

Your dog’s named Luke, and so I guess I’m

less ashamed,

but still I wish, I knew your name.

One night I saw you with a Jake

You closed the door, the Jake walked away.

I guess I see you everyday

But it’s days you walk Luke I most would say

I wish I could recall your name.

It’s awkward when we salutate

You always wave and always say “It’s Luke,”

and Luke wags his tail.

It’s awkward when we salutate

Sorry I forget your name.
