The Good, the Bad Of the Ugly (a poem of stereotypes)

640px-ConstantinoAriasUglyAmerican

The movies are realities

The American dream

is the White Picket Fence

Everyone carries a gun,

in NYC, LA and Chicago

Schools are death zones

CAWW… CAW, CAWW

Creationism vs. evolution

comprises our full docket

Media scrubs brains, then

leashed to brand names

we are under their control

BALD EAGLE CALL

Consuming until we burst,

such a way is all we know

Racism, is alive and well,

just now it’s unconscious,

though fire eaters do exist

CAWW… CAW, CAW

We are the world’s police

whether or not it calls us

And we got a big, big stick

and we don’t club it softly

BALD EAGLE CALL

Just a bunch of gun lovers

with inclinations to violence

Environmentally aloof and,

we’d made that movie too

CAWW… CAW, CAWW

Reckless, and arrogant, so

boastful this egomaniacal

culture of which we gloat

CAWW… CAWWW…

CAW, CAWW, CAWWW

But hey, we are generous

You know it’s fucking true

It’s none of your espressos

that’s feeding Timbuktu

philanthropy is what we do.

BALD EAGLE CALL

BALD EAGLE CALL

And life we live so positive,

hence the red white and blue

Working hard without a break

until the dream comes true

BALD EAGLE CALL

BALD EAGLE CALL

BALD EAGLE CALL

BALD EAGLE CALL

NOTE: This poem was inspired by a Wikipedia article, the “Ugly American” and other common American stereotypes. Just having fun not necessarily soap-boxing anything. Also I realize that’s a hawk…I couldn’t find an eagle
