To know one’s destination,
despite one lacking reach;
Belief that one will get there,
once through adversity–

Immersed in situation,
absorbing what will teach;
Its lesson may be simple,
insignificant, or profound–
But a lesson has to end before
its knowledge may be reaped.

Theories bought from coping
don’t all prove beneficial–
Immediacy is tempting–
The sweetness of relief;
Epiphanies sprout with nothing,
as with a garden’s weeds–
Dandelions and wild flowers–
If one wishes these to keep–
Regardless these may keep.

Distinction comes quite clear
to the grower’s hand–
The fruit of all its labor
is that he understands.
